Tebow Learns to Walk

TebowAll of our puppies at Suburban Bullies are stars, but every now and then we get that one that is just a certified SUPERSTAR. Meet Tebow. Ironically, he's on his way to LA / Hollywood in a few weeks to live with his new family. He has to be the most handsome bulldog puppy we have ever seen and he hasn't even begun to get all of his wrinkles at the young age of 3 weeks. Why is the video so long, you ask? We simply couldn't cut down these adorable moments to under five minutes.

Bot Flies and Bot Eggs

Horse Botfly ImagoBot flies lay their eggs in the hair of the horse primarily around the leg area but can be almost anywhere.  When the horse scratches with their mouth, some of the eggs or ingested.  Once ingested the egg larvae live inside much as worms do.

ER [Equine exertional rhabdomyolysis] aka tying up, azoturia, Monday morning disease

Generally caused by over feeding and lack of exercise resulting in cramping and pain when moving.

Breeding Dogs For Dummies [Kindle Edition]

So what’s the big deal about breeding purebreds? You put two compatible dogs alone together in a room, lower the lights, put a Barry White CD on the stereo and voila, two months later you’ve got yourself a litter of purebreds—and the rest is gravy, right? Not quite. Simply breeding dogs takes considerable space, time, and capital. Consistently breeding mentally and physically sound purebreds, on the other hand, is a labor of love that involves all of the above and a whole lot more. If you really love dogs then you need to consult with an expert on the many responsibilities, rules, and regulations dog breeding entails before you take the leap. And that’s where Breeding Dogs For Dummies comes in.

Written by Rick Beauchamp, professional breeder, exhibitor, and author of numerous books on the care and feeding of purebred dogs, Breeding Dogs For Dummies fills you in on every facet of the business.

All paws on deck!
Surveys collected from one hundred cruising boats indicate only 10% of those polled had children aboard, but a full 22% counted a pet among their crew. Why take a dog sailing? Companionship. We're dog people. Entertainment. We're dog people. Protection. We're dog people. Boaters meet new friends as dogless cruisers appear in search of a "puppy fix."
New cancer research for pets

Good Dog Magazine

Results from two recent surveys conducted by Morris Animal Foundation report cancer as the leading cause of disease-related death for dogs in the United States. With ownership of these companion animals rising to more than 55 million (1997 U.S. Pet Food Institute statistics), dog owners need to learn how to detect the symptoms of cancer and understand prevention techniques in order to help their canine family members lead healthier, happier lives.
